Founder and President of the Board
Milton Shapiro is a Psychologist who has been involved with racial issues from a young age. His father was a forerunner to the civil rights movement. His mother was involved with woman’s rights. At 93, He is the president and founder of the Shapiro Foundation for Anti-Racist Education which is a project he feels very strongly about. His hope is to continue to bring awareness to people about the issues of racism.
Chief Financial Officer and Director
Deborah Shapiro is a teacher with credentials in both Regular and Special Education and has taught a diverse population of learning disabled children from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. She believes racial awareness and teaching tolerance should begin with young children. She herself has grown up with these ideals. Deborah is currently working with Last Leaf Productions on a play that will introduce these themes.
Member Board of Directors
Paul Harris was president of the National Lawyers Guild. He is the author of the critically acclaimed book Black Rage Confronts the Law, and was in three editions of Best Lawyers in America. He currently teaches "guerrilla lawyering" at the Univ. of San Francisco and Golden Gate law schools. His website is www.guerrillalaw.com
Board Secretary
Daniel Bloom has been an actor since he was a child. He belongs to SAG/AFTRA and has had many roles in television and movies. He joined the Shapiro Foundation as a secretary in 2011.
